Creating and managing Google Business Profile locations in bulk using a Google Sheet is possible through the bulk upload feature in Google Business Profile Manager. This method is particularly useful for businesses with multiple locations.
Steps to Create Google Business Profile Locations from a Google Sheet:
Prepare your Google Sheet:
Organize your location data in a Google Sheet with specific column headers that correspond to the fields in Google Business Profiles. Required fields typically include
Store Code,Business Name,Address,Primary Phone,Primary Category, andWebsite(if applicable).Ensure data accuracy and consistency across all fields. For example, addresses should be formatted correctly for Google Maps to recognize them.
Refer to the Google Business Profile help documentation for a complete list of required and optional fields and their correct formatting.
Download the bulk upload template (optional but recommended):
In your Google Business Profile Manager account, navigate to the "Locations" section.
Look for an option to "Add locations" or "Import locations" and choose to download the bulk upload spreadsheet template. This template provides the correct column headers and formatting guidelines.
Populate the template (or your prepared sheet):
Copy and paste your Store location data into the downloaded template or carefully match your existing sheet's columns to the required fields.
Fill in all necessary information for each location.
Note: Our standard export includes more fields than Google requires as a result you can cut and paste the columns to meet your needs.
Upload the spreadsheet:
Return to your Google Business Profile Manager account.
Select the option to "Import locations" or "Upload spreadsheet."
Choose your prepared Google Sheet file for upload.
Review and address errors:
After uploading, Google Business Profile Manager will process the data and highlight any errors or inconsistencies.
Review these errors carefully and make the necessary corrections in your Google Sheet.
Re-upload the corrected sheet if significant changes are required.
Verify locations:
Note: Google may require verification for new locations. This can involve postcard verification, phone verification, or other methods. Follow the instructions provided in your Google Business Profile Manager account to complete the verification process for each location.
Important Considerations:
Store Codes:
We suggest you assign unique and consistent store codes to each location for easy identification and management.
Data Accuracy:
Inaccurate or inconsistent data can lead to errors during upload and may affect the visibility and accuracy of your business profiles on Google.
Verification:
Be prepared to verify new locations, as this is a crucial step for making your profiles live on Google.
Updates:
You can use the same bulk upload process to update existing location information by downloading your current data, making changes, and re-uploading the modified sheet.
