What is Geocoding?

What is GeoCoding and how does it affect my map...

Updated over 3 months ago

Before we can display your locations on the map in your store locator, our software has to convert each of your addresses into latitude and longitude coordinates. This process of converting addresses into map coordinates is called Geocoding.

This Geocoding process takes place after you have clicked on the Import button on the Dashboard/Store Locations Page after uploading your Bulk Import file. For large numbers of locations, this can take a while. As a guideline, up to 2,000 locations can be Geocoded using the website front end. This can take up to 10 minutes to complete geocoding. If you are loading more than 2000 locations we will automatically load them in the background advise you once the import is completed.

You can check on your geocoding progress via the meter below which will automatically appear as your import processes:

Once the geocoding process is complete, you'll be able to see all the locations that you've uploaded in your store locator.
