Using URL Parameters in the Store Locator

Easily customize your RP Promap Store Locator by passing parameters directly through the page URL. This allows you to:

  • Apply preset filters

  • Link to a specific store

  • Start with a predefined search

  • Combine filters for advanced results

This is perfect for marketing campaigns, email links, landing pages, or directing customers to highly specific results.

1️⃣ Apply Specific Filters with tags

Use the tags parameter to filter locations based on categories or criteria you’ve already assigned in your RP Promap dashboard.

⚠️ Tags in the URL must exactly match the tags you’ve added to your locations.

Format

https://yourwebsite.com/your-locator-page?tags=tag-name

Examples

Show stores with vegan products

https://yourwebsite.com/your-locator-page?tags=vegan-products

Show bookstores and cafes

https://yourwebsite.com/your-locator-page?tags=bookstore,cafe

You can include multiple tags separated by commas.

💡 Pro Tip

As you apply filters inside the locator, the browser URL automatically updates. Simply copy the updated link to share the exact filtered results.

2️⃣ Share a Direct Link to One Specific Store with location

Each store in RP Promap has a unique ID. When a store is selected, the URL updates to include its ID.

Format

https://yourwebsite.com/your-locator-page?location=STORE_ID

Example

For a store with ID 123456789:

https://yourwebsite.com/your-locator-page?location=123456789

💡 Pro Tip

Click on a store inside the locator — the URL will auto-update with its ID. Copy and share that link to send customers directly to that specific location.

3️⃣ Start with a Predefined Search using locate

Use the locate parameter to automatically trigger a search for a city, region, or postal code when the page loads.

Format

https://yourwebsite.com/your-locator-page?locate=search-value

Examples

Start search in Paris

https://yourwebsite.com/your-locator-page?locate=paris

Search postal code 54321 in Los Angeles, USA

https://yourwebsite.com/your-locator-page?locate=54321,LA,USA

This helps guide visitors directly to relevant results without requiring manual input.

4️⃣ Combine Parameters for Advanced Links

You can combine parameters to create highly targeted links.

Format

https://yourwebsite.com/your-locator-page?tags=tag1,tag2&locate=city

Example

Show cafes in Paris offering vegan products

https://yourwebsite.com/your-locator-page?tags=vegan-products,cafe&locate=paris

This approach is ideal for:

  • Campaign-specific landing pages

  • Regional promotions

  • Partner-specific location links

  • Social media promotions

Summary

RP Promap URL parameters allow you to:

Parameter

Purpose

tags

Filter locations by category

location

With these options, you can create powerful, shareable links tailored to your audience.
