RP Local Delivery Date: General FAQ
What does RP Local Delivery Date do?
RP Local Delivery Date lets a Shopify merchant offer date and time selection for local delivery and store pickup. Merchants can configure available weekdays, preparation time, cutoff times, time slots, unavailable dates, future-date limits, locations, and other availability rules.
Where does the selection widget appear?
The widget normally appears in the storefront cart experience. Its exact position depends on the published Shopify theme and whether the store uses a cart page, cart drawer, modal cart, or another customized cart.
Can the app force every customer to choose a date?
The app can require a selection on checkout paths that pass through its cart validation. A customer may bypass that validation when a theme or another app sends them directly to checkout—for example through Buy Now, an accelerated payment button, an upsell, or a third-party checkout flow. Test every checkout path used by your store.
Can I set preparation and cutoff times?
Yes. Preparation time controls how much advance notice is required before a delivery or pickup date becomes available. Cutoff time controls when same-day or another applicable ordering window closes. A future-date setting can also limit how far ahead customers may choose a date.
Can I offer time slots?
Yes. Time slots can be configured for supported delivery and pickup schedules. When a slot is unavailable, check its weekday schedule, preparation logic, cutoff, blackout dates, daily order limit, per-slot limit, and future-date window.
Can I block holidays or individual dates?
Yes. Use the app's unavailable or blackout-date settings. After saving, test the published storefront in a private/incognito browser window. If the date remains available, capture the exact date, timezone, location, products, and current settings for support.
Where is the selected date stored?
The selected information is passed with the Shopify order and can also be visible in the app's order area, depending on the store configuration. If an order has no date, support should check how the buyer reached checkout and review the order timeline.
Will the date appear in the order confirmation email?
Not automatically in every store. The Shopify order-confirmation template must be configured to display the relevant order information. Contact support for the current template instructions.
Does the app control Shopify's Delivery and Pickup choices at checkout?
No. The app records the customer's date/time/location selection, while Shopify controls its native checkout delivery, shipping, and pickup presentation. The two can appear together and must be configured consistently.
What should I do after publishing a new theme?
Open the new published theme in the Shopify theme editor, confirm that the app embed or block is enabled, and test all cart types on desktop and mobile. Theme settings do not always carry over automatically.
Why is the widget missing?
The most common causes are a disabled app embed/block, a newly published theme, a non-standard cart, a cart drawer that redraws after page load, or CSS that hides or covers the widget. Support may need temporary collaborator access to inspect the published theme.
Does it work with Buy Now, Shop Pay, Apple Pay, Google Pay, upsell apps, and custom checkout buttons?
Compatibility depends on whether the flow passes through the cart and triggers the app's validation. Direct-to-checkout flows must be tested individually. If a path bypasses the cart, it may also bypass required date selection.
Can the widget be translated?
The main widget supports localization, but translation coverage can differ between the main widget, custom text, emails, and post-purchase blocks. Confirm the specific language and element with support.
What information should I send support?
Send your .myshopify.com domain, published theme name, affected page or cart, device/browser, screenshots or a short recording, expected versus actual behavior, relevant app settings, and an example order number when applicable.
How do I get help?
Contact Rose Perl support through the app's support channel. Do not send customer payment details or passwords. If access is needed, grant only the requested Shopify collaborator permissions and remove access when the case is complete.
