Uninstall or Reinstall the App

This article helps you remove RP Local Delivery Date safely or reinstall it

This article helps you remove RP Local Delivery Date safely or reinstall it later.

What this helps you do

Remove the app with less risk to your storefront, then reinstall it if needed.

Prerequisites

  • Shopify admin access with permission to manage apps

  • Screenshots or another record of your current locations, profiles, schedules,
    rules, integrations, and billing settings

Instructions

  1. Before uninstalling, document your setup:

    • locations

    • schedules

    • delivery areas

    • rates

    • theme placement

  2. Confirm that RPDelivery Date App Embed is the storefront integration currently enabled for your theme.

  3. In Shopify admin, go to Shopify admin → Apps.

  4. Find RP Local Delivery Date.

  5. Click the app, then choose the uninstall or remove option in Shopify. The exact button label may vary.

  6. Confirm the uninstall when Shopify asks.

  7. Open the storefront in a private browser window and confirm that the delivery
or pickup picker no longer loads.

  8. If you want to reinstall later, return to the App Store listing and install
the app again. Review and approve the permissions shown by Shopify.

  9. Open Locations, Delivery, Pickup, and Settings. Confirm every
location, profile, schedule, rule, integration, and billing setting rather
than assuming the previous configuration is ready.

  10. In Shopify admin → Online Store → Themes → Customize → App
    embeds
, enable RPDelivery Date App Embed for the active theme and save
    the theme.

  11. Reauthorize any external integrations and create new automation or calendar
    credentials where required.

  12. Test the cart on desktop and mobile before making the app available to
    customers again.

Expected result

After uninstall, the app can no longer access the store and the storefront no
longer shows the app’s delivery or pickup selector. After reinstall, the app is
authorized again and the verified storefront placements work in a test order.

Troubleshooting notes

  • If storefront elements remain after uninstalling, refresh the storefront in a
private window. If older manually installed theme code is still present, ask
    support to review it.

  • If the picker is missing after reinstall, confirm that the app embed is enabled
on the published theme. Reinstalling the app does not reactivate every theme
    placement automatically.

  • If settings are missing or different after reinstall, stop before editing them
and contact support with your pre-uninstall screenshots.

Important warnings or limitations

Warning: Uninstalling the app can immediately remove delivery or pickup choices from your storefront.

  • Do not uninstall during peak order periods unless you are certain customers will not need the feature.

  • The current uninstall process revokes app and automation credentials,
deactivates the app subscription, and disables calendar feeds.

  • Configuration records are not erased by the immediate uninstall handler. In a
controlled reinstall test, locations, profiles, and settings were retained.
This is not a backup or a guarantee that configuration will remain available.

  • Shopify sends the app a separate store-data deletion request after uninstall.
Do not rely on reinstalling within a particular period to recover settings.

  • Reinstall creates fresh app credentials and a new plan history entry. Confirm
the active plan and do not reuse an old calendar feed or automation credential
unless the app shows that it is active.
