How to Add Appointment Booking to RP ProMap or RP ProFind
Adding a booking integration to RP ProMap or RP ProFind turns your store or product locator into a direct path from discovery to appointment. After customers find the most relevant location, product, service, or team member, they can select a clearly labeled booking link and immediately schedule their visit without searching for a separate appointment page or contacting the business for availability.
This integration can support in-store visits, consultations, product demonstrations, fittings, personal-shopping sessions, salon and beauty services, meetings with individual staff members, and other scheduled experiences. Its purpose is to make the customer journey faster and more convenient, connect each locator result to the correct booking calendar, and help convert customer interest into a confirmed appointment. Each location can use its own booking URL, allowing businesses with multiple stores, services, or team members to direct customers to the appropriate availability, address, appointment type, and scheduling workflow.
Scope of this guide: This article explains how to connect an existing booking page to RP ProMap or RP ProFind. It does not provide complete setup instructions for Calendly, Easy Appointment Booking, or another Shopify booking app. Booking-system configuration depends on your business requirements, including your services, locations, staff assignments, appointment durations, availability, capacity, time zones, customer questions, reminders, payments, and cancellation policies. Complete that setup using the documentation and support resources provided by your chosen booking platform before continuing with the integration steps below.
How the integration works: Create an appointment in a Shopify booking app or an external scheduling service, copy its public booking URL, and save that URL in the location's Store Website/URL field. The locator then displays a link such as Book an Appointment.
Before you begin
Confirm that RP ProMap or RP ProFind is installed and visible on your storefront.
Identify the store, service provider, or product-location record that should accept appointments.
Decide whether booking will take place inside Shopify or on an external scheduling website.
Confirm the appointment duration, availability, time zone, location, and customer information you need to collect.
Step 1: Prepare your booking page and copy its URL
Option A: Use a Shopify booking app
This option keeps the service and booking flow connected to your Shopify store. The example in this guide uses Easy Appointment Booking, but you can use another booking app that provides a public URL for each service or appointment type. Configure the booking app according to your operational needs and the provider's instructions; the steps below only explain how to obtain the URL needed for the RP integration.
From Shopify Admin, open Apps and install or open your booking app.
Complete the provider's setup for the service or appointment type you want customers to book.
If you have multiple stores, services, or staff members, make sure the appropriate customer-facing booking page is available for each locator record that will use a different schedule.
Open the customer-facing booking page and copy its complete URL.
Example Shopify booking URL:
https://rpstorelocator.app/products/instore-consult-roseperl-hollywood?variant=49528256102638&open_calendar=true
Important: Preserve the complete URL, including parameters such as ?variant=... and &open_calendar=true. Removing them may prevent the correct service or calendar from opening.
In Easy Appointment Booking, find the correct event or service and select View. Copy the complete URL from the customer-facing page that opens and use it as the location's booking URL.
Option B: Use Calendly or another external booking website
This option works well if you already manage appointments outside Shopify. The example below uses Calendly, but the same process works with most scheduling platforms that provide a public booking link. Set up Calendly or your selected scheduling platform according to your own business requirements and the provider's documentation; this guide does not cover the complete configuration of that service.
Sign in after completing your scheduling account and event setup.
Open the published event type that corresponds to the store, service, or team member you want to connect.
Verify that its customer-facing details, location, time zone, and availability are correct.
Open the scheduling dashboard.
Select Copy link for the event type and save the complete public URL.
Example external booking URL:
https://calendly.com/roseperltech/30min
Open the event type in your scheduling dashboard.
Select Copy link to copy the public booking URL.
Step 2: Add the booking URL to RP ProMap or RP ProFind
Sign in to your Shopify Admin.
Go to Apps, then open RP ProMap or RP ProFind.
Open the app's Store Locations section.
Find the location that should display the appointment link.
Select the location name or its Edit action.
In Store Website/URL, paste the complete public booking URL copied in Step 1.
In Store Website/URL display as, enter the customer-facing label. Recommended: Book an Appointment.
Select Save.
Open the Store Locations list and edit the appropriate record.
Paste the booking URL into Store Website/URL and add the link label below it.
Step 3: Add booking links to multiple locations
If each store, staff member, or product location has a different booking page, use the app's import/export feature instead of editing every record individually.
Export the current location data from RP ProMap or RP ProFind.
Save an unchanged backup copy of the export.
In the working copy, enter the correct booking URL in the website URL column for each applicable location.
Enter Book an Appointment, or your preferred wording, in the corresponding website display-label column.
Keep each location's existing identifier and other required fields unchanged so the import updates the correct record.
Import the completed file into the app.
Review several records in the app before testing them on the storefront.
Tip: Use a unique booking URL for each location whenever availability, staff, time zone, address, or appointment type differs.
Step 4: Test the customer experience
Open the published RP ProMap or RP ProFind page in a private or incognito browser window.
Search for the updated store or product location.
Confirm that Book an Appointment appears in the result.
Select the link and verify that it opens the correct booking page.
Confirm the store name, address, appointment type, time zone, dates, and available times.
Complete a test booking with a test email address.
Verify that the customer and merchant or staff member receive the expected confirmation and that the appointment appears in the booking system.
Cancel the test appointment if it should not remain on the calendar.
Repeat the test on mobile and desktop.
The booking link appears with the location details in the customer-facing locator.
Troubleshooting
The booking link does not appear
Confirm that both Store Website/URL and Store Website/URL display as are populated.
Confirm that the display settings in the customize/design tab have the website box checked to display on the Detail Store Fields Display or Result Fields Display
Save the location again, refresh the storefront page, and clear any storefront or browser cache if necessary.
Confirm that you edited the same location displayed in the customer search result.
The link opens the wrong appointment or location
Open the saved URL directly in a private browser window and verify its service, staff member, address, and time zone.
Replace the URL with the unique public link for the correct event or Shopify service.
For Shopify booking URLs, confirm that the product variant and all URL parameters were copied.
The calendar opens, but no times are available
Check the booking provider's availability, date range, minimum notice, buffers, capacity, connected calendar, and time-zone settings.
Confirm that the service or event type is active and publicly bookable.
This availability is controlled by the booking provider, not by RP ProMap or RP ProFind.
The external booking page replaces the locator page
The locator uses the public URL saved in the location record. Whether it opens in the same tab, a new tab, or an embedded booking window depends on the storefront theme, app configuration, and booking provider. Test the published storefront experience after making changes.
Recommended maintenance
Retest booking links whenever a service, staff member, store address, domain, or scheduling provider changes.
Remove or replace links for locations that stop accepting appointments.
Keep an exported backup before bulk updates.
Periodically complete a test booking to verify confirmations and calendar synchronization.
Example customer booking experiences
The screenshots below show example customer experience flows after a visitor selects Book an Appointment from RP ProMap or RP ProFind. They are provided only as examples of what customers may see when using either integration method. The exact screens, fields, steps, and confirmation process are controlled by your selected booking provider and may differ based on your configuration.
Example: Shopify booking app customer flow
After a customer selects the booking link from the locator, they can choose a date and time, enter the required contact information, and receive a booking confirmation through the Shopify-connected booking experience.
Example: the customer selects an appointment date in a Shopify booking app.
