Understand Preparation Time, Cutoff Time, and Future-Date Settings

Use this guide when a date appears too early, too late, or is not available when you expect it to be.

What each setting does

Setting

What it controls

Available weekday

Which days can normally be selected.

Preparation time

How much advance notice you require.

Cutoff time

When same-day or the applicable ordering window closes.

Future-date window

How far ahead a customer may select.

Blackout date

A specific date that must not be selected.

Daily or slot limit

How many orders can use a day or time slot.

Find why a date is unavailable

  1. Confirm the store timezone and current local time.

  2. Confirm that delivery or pickup is enabled for the requested weekday.

  3. Review preparation time and cutoff time.

  4. Make sure the date falls inside the future-date window.

  5. Check blackout dates and closed days.

  6. Check daily capacity and the selected time slot's capacity.

  7. Review any location, product, postal-code, or delivery-area rule.

  8. Save and retest in a private window.

Complex schedules

A single preparation rule may not reproduce every schedule with several different ordering deadlines for the same fulfillment day. Configure the closest supported rule and test it from the customer's perspective before advertising the schedule.

Information to record

If the result is still unexpected, record the exact date you want available, current date and time, store timezone, fulfillment method, location, product, and screenshots of every rule listed above.
