This article helps you control when customers can receive local delivery or pickup.
What this helps you do
Enable a date picker, time picker, or time slots, and control lead times, cutoff times, and date ranges.
Prerequisites
The app is installed
At least one location exists
Delivery or pickup is enabled for that location
Instructions
Open Shopify admin → Apps → RP Local Delivery Date.
Go to Locations, select the location name, and select Manage for the
relevant profile:Delivery
Pickup
Under the profile schedule, use Customers can select to choose Day,
Day & time, or Day & time slot.Select each weekday and enable Allow delivery/pickup on [weekday] when it
should be available.Enter Preparation time to control the soonest time a customer can select.
For Day & time slot, add each time slot. For example:
9:00 AM - 11:00 AM1:00 PM - 5:00 PM
Use Daily order limit for the whole operating day and each slot's Order
limit for that individual window. A blank capacity is unlimited.Under Future orders, enable Limit future delivery/pickup orders and
enter the maximum number of calendar days customers can book ahead.Set Cutoff time for same-day delivery/pickup when availability should
change after a particular time.Add Blackout dates as needed, then select Save in the contextual save
bar.Test with:
an order before the cutoff time
an order after the cutoff time
a date beyond the allowed range
a slot at its configured capacity
The profile selector at the top identifies the location being configured. The
schedule type controls whether the customer chooses only a day, a day and exact
time, or a day and one of your time slots:
Configure each enabled weekday separately. For every time slot:
From and To define the window shown to customers.
Order limit is the maximum number of bookings for that slot on that
operating date.Preparation time moves the earliest selectable time later.
Cutoff time for same-day delivery removes same-day availability after the
specified time.
Delivery and Pickup are separate profiles. Repeat the setup under Pickup if
both methods should use time slots:
Expected result
Customers see a native Shopify calendar followed by a Restricted dates
list. The list identifies dates that are fully booked, blacked out, past their
cutoff, or otherwise unavailable before the customer selects one.
Restricted dates remain clickable so the app can explain why the date cannot
be used. After a customer selects one, the app clears the selection, displays a
warning, and prevents checkout confirmation until an available date is chosen.
Customers can only confirm dates and times that match your schedule rules.
Troubleshooting notes
If dates start too early, increase lead time or review cutoff settings.
If no dates are available, check blackout dates, schedule settings, and location status.
If time slots are missing, confirm they were added and saved.
If Analytics shows capacity but no bookings, confirm the order's Profile ID
matches the Delivery or Pickup Profile ID displayed on the Locations screen. If a date appears in Restricted dates, review the reason shown beside it
before changing your schedule or capacity settings.
Important warnings or limitations
Warning: Date and time rules affect customer expectations directly. Test them before publishing to a live store.
If you change cutoff rules during the day, current customer options may change immediately.
Configure delivery and pickup independently when their schedules differ.
