Questions and answers
What does RP Local Delivery Date do?
RP Local Delivery Date lets customers choose dates and times for local delivery
and store pickup. You can configure locations, weekly schedules, preparation and
cutoff times, time slots, blackout dates, booking ranges, capacity, product and
cart restrictions, delivery areas, and optional delivery pricing.
Why is the picker not visible on my storefront?
Usually RPDelivery Date App Embed is disabled, a different theme was edited,
the location or method is inactive, or only one of the cart page and cart drawer
was tested. Follow Add the Delivery Picker to Your Cart
and test the published theme in a private browser window.
Can I require every customer to choose a date?
You can require a selection on checkout paths that pass through the app's picker
and validation. A theme or another app can bypass that validation if it sends a
customer directly to checkout through Buy Now, an accelerated payment button,
an upsell, or another custom checkout flow. Test every path customers can use.
Why can customers not choose the date or time I expect?
Check the profile's open days, time slots, preparation time, cutoff time,
blackout dates, booking range, and slot or daily capacity. Confirm the customer
is using the intended location and Delivery or Pickup profile.
Preparation time controls how much advance notice is required before a date or
time becomes available. Cutoff time closes the applicable ordering window, and
the booking range controls how far ahead customers may schedule.
Can I offer both local delivery and local pickup?
Yes. Add separate Delivery and Pickup profiles to each location and configure their schedules independently.
Can I use more than one location?
Yes. The current in-app plan descriptions include unlimited locations. Confirm the plan offered to your store under Settings → Billing.
Can I limit delivery by distance or postal code?
Yes. Delivery profiles support ZIP or postal codes and full-address validation using either a maximum radius or a boundary drawn on a map.
Can I charge different delivery fees?
Yes. Configure Dynamic pricing rules on a location's Delivery profile. Flat, same-day, and weekend pricing are available on all app plans; Pro also provides rush-hour and per-time-slot pricing. The optional picker inside checkout requires Shopify Plus.
Do I need Shopify Plus?
No for the standard cart picker and cart Dynamic Pricing. Shopify Plus is
required for the optional picker placement inside checkout. Customer-account,
Thank You, and Order Status placements also depend on the capabilities Shopify
makes available to the store. Confirm the current status under Settings →
Development and test every enabled placement.
Can I require a minimum order for delivery or pickup?
Yes. In the Delivery or Pickup profile, enable Allow delivery/pickup only for
certain cart totals and enter a minimum. You can also enter a maximum; set it
to zero when you do not need an upper limit. These cart-total restrictions
cannot currently be combined with Dynamic Pricing rules.
Why are the Location ID and Profile ID different?
The Location ID identifies the address record. Delivery and Pickup each use a
separate Profile ID for their method-specific schedule and rules. Use the ID
shown beside the relevant method badge when an order, API workflow, or support
request asks for a Profile ID.
Why does Analytics show capacity but zero bookings?
Slot utilization matches an order using its Profile ID, scheduled date, and
slot start time. Confirm that the order contains the intended Profile-Id,
Delivery-Date, and Delivery-Time, and that the selected Analytics date range
includes that scheduled date. Changing current slot limits does not rewrite
historical orders.
Can I change the text customers see?
Yes. Use Settings → Translations for customer-facing labels and messages and Settings → Design for the picker accent color, control style, and custom CSS. Shopify notification wording is managed separately in Shopify.
Does the app work with all themes?
The app uses a Shopify theme app embed. Modern themes are the intended target, but custom carts and older integrations may need a support review.
What should I do after publishing a new theme?
Open the published theme in Shopify's theme editor, confirm that RPDelivery
Date App Embed is enabled, save the theme, and test the cart page and cart
drawer on desktop and mobile. App-embed settings do not always carry over to a
new or copied theme.
Does the picker work with Buy Now or accelerated checkout buttons?
Compatibility depends on whether the path displays the picker and runs the
app's validation before checkout. Buy Now, Shop Pay, Apple Pay, Google Pay,
PayPal, upsell apps, and custom checkout buttons can behave differently by
theme and configuration. Test each enabled path; a direct-to-checkout path can
bypass required date selection.
Where is the customer's selected date stored?
The selection is passed to the Shopify order as delivery or pickup details and
is also available in the app's order and reporting experiences where supported.
If an order has no date, check how the customer reached checkout and inspect the
order's additional details and timeline.
Will the selected date appear in Shopify emails?
Not automatically in every store. Shopify notification templates must render
the relevant order attributes. Follow Add Delivery Details to Shopify Emails
and test the notification with a controlled order.
Does the app control Shopify's delivery and pickup choices at checkout?
No. RP Local Delivery Date records the customer's date, time, and app-location
selection. Shopify separately controls its native shipping, local-delivery, and
pickup presentation at checkout. Configure the two experiences consistently
and test the resulting order.
Does the app support languages other than English?
Yes. English is the default, and additional storefront languages can be enabled and edited under Settings → Translations.
What should I send support if something is broken?
Send the permanent .myshopify.com domain, app environment, published theme,
affected page, relevant Location/Profile IDs or Shopify order number,
occurrence time and time zone, browser/device, reproduction steps, expected and
actual results, impact, and sanitized evidence. Never send passwords, tokens,
secrets, private calendar URLs, payment details, or unnecessary customer data.
